Koen Groeneveld

Koen Groeneveld is, since 2008, one of the hottest ‘new’ names in today’s electronic music.
His unique dynamic sound consists elements of Techno, Tech House and Minimal.
When DJ-ing, Koen drops a refreshing and powerful crowd pleasing DJ set based on these styles.

Koen founded the label _aBZoluT. www.myspace.com/abzolutrecordings early 2008.
One of his first releases “Wake Turbulence” peaked at number 1, both in the Beatport Top Downloads Top 100 and in their Techno Top 100 in July 2008.
The follow up tracks to “Wake Turbulence”; “Pull Up” and “Go Around” and his collabs with (Peter) Gelderblom “Fokker 126”, Addy van der Zwan “MIA” and Ahmet Sendil “Rotate”
received massive support by the worlds DJ elite.

His in Spring 2009 launched 4-track E.P. “Schiphol E.P.” , a side project under the moniker KG
(Koen Groeneveld’s initials), gained also big time posiitve feedback amongst the global DJ’s.

After the huge success of “Wake Turbulence”, Koen delivered several dancefloor damaging remixes for a.o. Mark Trophy “Ripper”, Dataworx “Control”, Mario Ochoa “Twisted”,
Sander van Doorn Vs. Marco V “What Say?”, Tocadisco “2 Many Shots Of Jaegermeister”,
Spektre “Hydra”, Alex Young “Uno”, Noir “The Off World” and many more.

 “Wake Turbulence” ended up being number 3 in the Beatport Techno Top 10 of 2008 and was nominated as “Best Techno Track 2008” at the Beatport Music Awards 2009!

Koen’s biggest success till date came when Toolroom released Fatboy Slim V
Koen Groeneveld “Rockafeller Skank”.
The track skyrocketed to the number 1 spot at Beatport’s overall chart in March 2009 in less then 5 days!

Fall 2009 saw the release of the "Microburst E.P." on Toolroom and again Koen reached the highest positions on Beatport's Techno chart.

On his imprint _aBZoluT. releases together with his studio partner for life Addy van der Zwan
and their good friend R3hab as Dutch Basterds and a release with Ahmet Sendil: "Flaps 128",
which was heavy hammered by the likes of a.o. Ritchie Hawtin.

New collabs with Tocadisco and Ahmet Sendil are scheduled for 2010 and his track
"Put Your Hands Up" with Toolroom head honcho Mark Knight has destroyed global dance
floors late 2009 and early 2010!

Remixes for big names like David Guetta ("Sexy Bitch"), Ferry Corsten's System F ("Out Of The Blue 2010") , Lutzenkirchen ("Phuture Disco Vibes") and Tocadisco ("2 Many Shots Of Jaegermeister") lifted Koen higher on the ladder of the electronic dance scene in 2009 and will continue doing that in 2010.

One thing's clear:
2010 will be a very exiting and interesting year for Koen, besides this
new collabs, new releases, remixes, he can be found behind the CDJ's all
around the world the forthcoming months in a.o. Tokyo, Russia, USA, UK, Mexico,
Poland, Germany and of course his home country Holland!
