One of Holland’s best loved dance artists – MC Gee’s powerful voice, unique lyrics and flamboyant stage manner have earned him tons of fans around the world! At the age of 20 MC Gee decided to move to Tenerife and work in the clubs there where the UK house and garage scene was massive. There he excelled performing with DJs like EZ, Luck and MC Neat, Spoony (Dream Team). He also did some tracks with some producers from Italy (Triple X). After 4 years Gee returned back to England to chill, spend time with his family and try to pursue a career in professional football where he played for 1 season for 2nd division Wycombe Wanderers.
Due to injury Lee (MC Gee) started working again in the music industry. MC Gee fancied a new challenge and decided that he was going to try the Netherlands, 2 years ago he had his first gig in Eindhoven where he was spotted by DJ Yamani who had all the connections MC Gee needed. It wasn’t very long before everybody was talking about this new MC from England who was ripping up the house, garage and drum ‘n bass scene in Holland.
In this short time he has been moving towards being 1 of the top MCs in the country, performing at Amsterdam clubs and parties like Paradiso, Salsa Lounge,In Bed@Hotel Arena, the More, Loveboat2, Rush, Sundae, Chemistry@Escape, 020, Milky Way, Sneakerz@Panama, Ambassador@Amsterdam Arena, Luxurush@Heineken Music Hall and in other cities Vasquesz, Urban Town @ Nighttown, Hufters@Now-Wow, Storm, Poema, Tivoli, The Rechter, Extrema (art of silence), Mezzo, Nightlive plus many more clubs in Belgium, Germany and Poland.
Last summer, Gee has also performed at great outdoor events like Fast Forward (Rotterdam), frequence (E3 strand Eindhoven), chateau d’House (Breda) and has also been in the studio with DJs Erick E, Roog, Jorgensen, Marcel Woods plus many more. The first track by MC Gee made in the Netherlands was released by ID-T and made it into the Sensation Black CD, which is the top selling trance compilation album in the country. He has just finished the track ‘Drop The Vibe’ with DJ Jani and Ian Carey from the Soul Providers which is already released. And last summer MC Gee put his vocals on a Play Station 2 game called ‘Cyclone Circus’ which was released in July 2005.
So far this year Mc Gee has been very active on the club circuit performing at some of Holland'’s biggest outdoor events like Dance Valley, Mystery Land and Extrema to name a few. MC Gee has become one of Holland’s most top MCs with residencies in every major city in the Netherlands, so watch out for MC Gee setting the place on fire at a club near you.

British house music label and booking agency Milk'n'2 Sugars has been contributing to the dance music scene for 15 years. So it's only fitting that they celebrate the milestone during the biggest gathering devoted to electronic music, Winter Music Conference.
The agency will take over Klutch nightclub (136 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach), located in the former Opium Garden/Prive space, on March 26. The party will take over all four areas of the venue, but the most exciting thing is the all-star line up. Confirmed so far are

Yet another Dutch export is garnering the attention of the industry alongside Junkie XL, Martijn ten Velden, Laidback Luke, Menno de Jong and, of course, Armin van Buuren and Tiësto (to name just a few).
Bart B More is rising in the DJ/producer ranks and embarking on a North American tour, which includes a
January 31 gig in Las Vegas. Even if you’re not familiar with the 26-year-old, you may want to catch him Sunday at Moon before he becomes the next mega-star DJ that clubbers will clear their bank accounts for just to get an ear in the door.

Bart B More - Dance Floor Dopeness:
MIAMI VICE: B more is A blend of Hip Hop and chopped staccato house music created in Baltimore Maryland in the early 1990s. Is this style what influenced you to become the Bart we know today?
BART B MORE: Yes and no. I really like B more music but I only discovered it a few years ago and after I decided to produce and DJ under the name of Bart B More. So the whole B more sound inspired me but in relation to my artist name it’s one big coincidence!
MV: Who in your eyes will be the top house DJ's of 2010.
BBM: I think Harvard Bass, Bingo Players & Afrojack will do really well this year!
MV: You will be at Mansion on the 23rd how does the energy and vibe of Miami compare to other cities?
BBM:Well Miami has proven to be a real party city, it’s no coincidence the entire dance scene unites here every year in March. Miami is all about partying and having fun and you can see and feel it everywhere. Must be because of the sun or something.
MV: What is your favorite city and venue to spin at?
BBM: I really enjoyed Social Club in Paris and Fuse in Bruxelles.
MV: You have been described as "holland's finest export", what are your favorite Imports?
BBM: Music and movies to fuel my hobbies!
MV: Your production's are always dripping with funkified flavor, what fuels your funk? Any preproduction ritual's you partake in?
BBM: Thanks! That’s the stuff my older brothers used to listen to when I was young so I kinda grew up with it. I need the funk in the music to be able to dance to it.
MV: What factors propelled you to the level you are at now other than your raw talent?
BBM: Being a music nerd I think. I’m basically working with music 24/7 and I think that’s what keeps developing me as a producer and a DJ. That’s the good part about being obsessed with music, if you spend a lot of time creating stuff you keep getting better at it.
MV: Do you have any plans for the Winter Music Conference?
BBM: I’ll definitely be there! Looks like I’m going to play 4 or 5 different party’s this year… I hope to be able to give some more information on that soon!

11-01-2010Marco V - How You Feeling / Inconsistent Talk
How You Feeling revisits the classic elements of trance; compressed layers of electronica driving along the mid-section of the composition, while a secondary top line weaves itself in and out before taking overall charge of the track. Cunningly crafted and charged with commanding percussion, How You Feeling should derail even the most demanding of dance floors.
Marco then throws out
Inconsistent Talk and gives a nod to break-beat, with syncopated industrial rhythms and a twisted vocal line running throughout the track. Still very much a hands-in-the-air tune, the bubbling bass and filthy, warping, electro grooves that throb underneath guarantee to get the crowd moving, leaning much further towards the darker, harder side of Marco's repertoire.

Bart kicks off his
North America tour by returning to the famous
Cielo club in New York on the 21st of January. For more tour dates check the gig section on our website!

In the last twelve months Bart B More has remixed everyone from French funksters Alan Braxe & Fred Falke to indie darlings the Editors, with even Tiesto, Kraak & Smaak and the Crookers in between. Defying pigeonholing the Dutchman's love for beat-driven, looped techno music with big room house and electro has seen him create a refreshing new crossover sound that many have followed. As a DJ he's rocked dancefloors from Miami to Middlesborough, Paris to Prague and Sydney to Amsterdam, winning the crowd with his energized sets. Bijna 20 jaar geleden begon het allemaal op een zolderkamer in Haarlem. Daar werd door René en Gaston, de mannen achter Chocolate Puma, een van Nederlands eerste en grootste house hits ooit geproduceerd. Tegenwoordig, vele jaren na het eerste succes, staat het duo nog steeds aan de top van de mondiale house. Nieuwjaarsnacht gaat Chocolate Puma haar derde actieve decennium in, met een speciaal optreden tijdens Nightlife Circus in Utrecht. We nemen een kijkje in de past, present en future van het duo.
Past. We schrijven 1992 en de wereld is in de ban van Give It Up van The Good Men. Het is de eerste single van twee enthousiaste Nederlandse housepioniers, René ter Horst en Gaston Steenkist. Enkele jaren later scoren zij wederom een tweede wereldhit, nu met Chocolate Puma – I Wanna Be U. René vertelt over de eerste jaren van housemuziek: “Eigenlijk waren we in het begin overenthousiast. Dag en nacht waren we met bezig muziek maken. We maakten toen zoveel platen, dat het onmogelijk was ze allemaal uit te brengen; tenzij we onder verschillende aliassen produceerden.” De lijst aliassen is dan ook lang, van The Good Men en Chocolate Puma, tot Jark Prongo, René et Gaston, en ga zo nog maar even door.
Present. Tegenwoordig focussen René en Gaston zich op Chocolate Puma. De tijden zijn veranderd geeft René aan: “Vroeger konden we gewoon muziek maken en maar zien wat er mee gebeurde, tegenwoordig komt er een manager aan te pas en moet er veel genetwerkt worden.”
Dat betekent niet dat het nu slechter zou gaan, integendeel, 2009 was een fijn jaar voor Chocolate Puma. “De overstap naar Defected, het fameuze label van Simon Dunmore, heeft ons goed gedaan. We krijgen veel inspiratie en feedback van ze, ook al is onze muziek voor Simon persoonlijk eigenlijk al aan de stevige kant. Het fijne van Defected is ook dat we dezelfde filosofie hebben, het gaat ons om plezier op de dansvloer. Bij Defected kunnen we ons concentreren op het maken van dansvloergerichte muziek en voelen we geen druk een radiohit te produceren.”
De samenwerking met het fameuze Engelse label heeft ook geleid tot het mede mogen samenstellen van de compilatie Defected In The House – Amsterdam edition. Chocolate Puma is hot en lijkt een hoogtepunt te beleven. René ziet dat iets anders: “Ik omschrijf onze huidige fase liever als een fijn punt. Geen hoogtepunt, want het kan altijd beter, en daar streven we ook naar!”
Future. Wat kunnen we in de toekomst dan van Chocolate Puma verwachten? “Het liefst zouden we de Olympische Spelen van 2012 openen”, zegt René. “Dat is onze ambitie. Ik vind dat je ambitieus moet zijn. Ik zou ook graag nog een keer een wereldhit scoren, maar dan wel een typische Chocolate Puma track.”
Typisch Chocolate Puma is een energieke, funky dansvloer track. En die worden niet meer geproduceerd op en kleine zolderkamer, maar in een professionele studio aan huis. “De studio is bij mij thuis, naast de woonkamer” geeft René aan. “Het is een goede graadmeter, als mijn vrouw ‘s avonds een melodietje fluit dan weet ik dat we goed bezig zijn.” Bijna dagelijks sluiten René en Gaston zich op in die studio om te werken aan de toekomst van Chocolate Puma.
Die toekomst begint in het nieuwe decennium. Met een speciaal optreden op Nightlife Circus in Utrecht opent het duo het nieuwe jaar. “Nieuwjaarsnacht blijft een speciaal moment”, besluit René. “We zijn nu al aan het nadenken hoe te gaan openen na het twaalf uur moment. Je wil toch meteen een feestje bouwen en een goede start maken in het nieuwe jaar en decennium!”

Avicii had only been producing a few months when his friends noticed that the productions were amazingly professional and that they had just witnessed a great talent being born.
Avicii was instantly fascinated with producing and spent many hours in his home studio creating one fresh tune after the next. Avicii never tried to get caught up in a specific subgenre of house, but wanted to keep the productions up to date and innovative. His music is inspired by the likes of Laidback Luke, Steve Angello and Tocadisco, but also Daft Punk, Eric Prydz and that of Axwell. In April 2008, Avicii released the first big track, ‘Manman’, on Pete Tong’s Bedroom Bedlam label after winning the Pete Tong Fast Trax. Avicii received an astonishing 70% of the votes and after the release and were contacted by numerous labels, promoters and booking agencies from all over the globe.
What Avicii wants is to create music for people to listen to and come to love, whether it be at home or in a dark nightclub. Avicii puts great emphasis on melodies in his productions and wants to appeal to fans of many different house music genres.
More recently, the 19 year old producer has been VERY busy in the studio. With his own releases, Avicii broke ground in 2009 with his third release and original track Ryù, which was charted two weeks before release on Pete Tong's Essential Mix. One week later it was 'This Week's Essential New Tune' while at the same time the "track of the week" on Tiesto's Club Life (Episode 113). The track hit Beatport Top 20 in worldwide sales almost instantly and has been on Top 30 for over 4 weeks.
Avicii is also mixing CD2 of MixMash’s first compilation. CD1 is mixed by label owner Laidback Luke. Not to forget he was named as breakthrough dj/producer of 2009 by Tiesto, Laidback Luke and Dirty South on the DJ Mag Top 100 site. Avicii was also picked up by At Night Management (SE) in May 2008.

Armin van Buuren's collab with Dutch singer VanVelzen on 'Broken Tonight' certainly managed to pull the trance crowd to its sound. But the diversity in the matching remix-package will definitely cause a stir far beyond the glowstick-dancers and trance addicts of this world. Contradiction is the key-word to the three remixes included. Keeping in mind that variety is the soul of pleasure, two producers from two different scenes were called in to interpret this peak time trancer in their very own way. Time to brace yourselves, and get ready for some rumbling trance and house violence.
There's no real surprises to the fact that the remix delivered by Alex M.O.R.P.H. is another sure-shot of a tune for any trance DJ's set. The German producer delivers one quality track after another, and this one is no different. A tension building structure, including a strong break and tech-trance explosion afterwards, and Alex' typical sound on top make his remix a true anthem for all those trance seeking souls out there.
However, the other remixes in this package are far beyond the average tunes you'd expect to find in an Armin van Buuren release. A daring challenge was given to Dutch house sensation Hardwell. The young Dutchman, currently one of the most requested names in house-land, had his definite breakthrough with the ultimate feel good bootleg 'Show Me Love vs. Be'. After remixes for the likes of Laidback Luke, Fedde Le Grand, Steve Angello, Chris Lake, Sander van Doorn and loads of other elite names, Hardwell's now able to tick the box for Armin van Buuren as well.
First off, he delivers the 'Hardwell's Dutch Club Remix'. Hands down for the youngster being able to turn this trancer into a booty-shaking house tune, cheeky in every single way. But Hardwell wouldn't be the successful DJ that he is today, if he didn't came up with another surprise. A second 'Hardwell Remix' left his studio, with a tech-house inspired sound, deeper and more accessible for the Armin fans. With this liquid fusion of trance and house, Hardwell's remixes of 'Broken Tonight' surely fills some gaps, showing the best of both worlds really isn't that far apart.

29-10-2009Marco V Fans duped by freeman international in Australia
International DJ legend Marco V has been left with a bitter taste in his mouth after his heavily anticipated Australian appearance was scuppered by the event’s own promotion company.
In a move that can at best be described as ‘shady’ and at worst underhand and unscrupulous, Freeman International are believed to have used Marco’s popularity and heavy fan-base throughout the southern hemisphere as the main draw to their one-day Freedom Festival.
While placing Marco’s name at the top of the bill to promote the event and sell tickets, Freeman International repeatedly refused to sign his contract for the gig and consistently avoided contact with his agents in the UK. After six weeks of unanswered calls and emails, the promoters finally replied citing a change of venue as reason to pull Marco from the line-up.
Speaking from his studio in Holland, Marco vented his frustration. “I was really looking forward to playing out in Australia. I moved my entire diary around in good faith to fit this event in. It’s bad that these promoters just cancelled me instead of contacting us and seeing how we could make this event happen. I wouldn’t mind flying over for only one event, I already did that for Sensation NYE! I will definitely see everyone out there some other time soon.”
Jay Pidgeon, the agent handling the booking request on behalf of Marco underlined his fury. “(JPM) chased (Freeman International) for over 6 weeks for a signed contract and to pay the deposit, I have since found out that they have paid the DJ fee's for the other artists on the line up. The way I am looking at this is that they used Marco's name to sell tickets and then cancelled him and are trying to continue on with the party without paying us any money.
“We want to urge anybody that bought a ticket for this event and was hoping to see Marco to demand a refund. This is blatantly ripping off clubbers and Marco as the artist.”
