Laat staan in Breda.

09-01-2012Fabric 62 : DJ Sneak press release
With over 20 years of DJing and more than 20k records in his vinyl collection, one of the world’s most talented
house hero’s, DJ Sneak, steps into the Fabric arena lending his genius tune selection, deck wizardry and pure
love of house music to the brand new Fabric 62 compilation. Sneak’s mix is ripe with a plethora of carefully
selected contemporary house nuggets with echoes of Chicago and the Jackin’ House sound he loves, drizzled
with elements of techno and dusted with overtones of big band swing fun too, it’s all here and mixed to
perfection! Sneak performed and recorded the mix live without the use of any computers - indeed a testament
to how tight this monstrous house jock really is!
“I’ve listened to it so many times and I get really excited.. That’s DJ Sneak right there!” - DJ SneakFabric 62’s tracklisting boasts some of the very best in Nu Cool house artists, kicking off with a fierce techy outing, fresh from Berlin, from Strip Steve & Das Glow with ‘Calcium’, followed by a lighter looptastic chugger from Markus Homm & Philipp Gonzales with ‘Got To Make It’. Other gems for fans of tech come from Muto with ‘Wait A Minute’, Mike Jules with the very quirky ‘Crack Ass’, Basti Grub’s ‘Walking In My Blues’ powered with fiery Latin tinged beats featuring Agent!, the deep tones of Arturo Garces’ ‘Light It Up’, and Darius Syrossian’s almighty remix of
‘Creampie’ by Hector Couto. Several reworks come from Belgian producer Ramon Tapia (Sneak’s current favourite), remixing Sneak’s own ‘My Love’ and Sir James’ ‘Special’ showcasing his Hot Jackin’ sound. The album also includes an exclusive new single from the Tripmastaz titled ‘No Turning Back’ forthcoming on Sneak’s Magnetic Recordings.
Echoes of ‘way back when’ come courtesy of Swiss producer Mendo with ‘Old School’, busting with soaring sirens and stuttering vocal samples. More power beats and rolling bass provide the electric undercurrent for catchy soulful vocal hook on Alex Tepper’s ‘In, Out, Life’ and an infectious funky bass groove makes a grand entrance before dropping into a haunting breakdown on Christian Burkhardt & Einzelkind’s ‘Cooper’. Fabric 62 is weaved together by a hefty selection of Jazzy & Jackin’ grooves. The talent here includes the very young Romanian Luca M, who at
only 20 years old is tearing up floors with his ‘Funk My Sax’ armed with an incessant sax hook; French producer Joss Moog adds an Electro Swing vibe to Yeshua Murillo’s ‘I’m Gonna Make You Mine’; DJ W!ld Feat. Hector Moralez’s sublime spoken word and jazz key stabs dominate ‘Take A Trip’; Tato’s remix of Willie Graff & Tuccillo’s ‘To The Music’ which gives way to Cause & Affect’s ‘Beware Of The Swingers’, a skippy, energetic monster laced with big band magic and a violin loop which finishes the mix on an ecstatic note!
“I am very proud, excited and confident this mix will entertain for many years to come... As long as I’m alive, housemusic is not dead!” - DJ SneakSunshine, beach life and Salsa music on the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico provided a backdrop for DJ Sneak’s upbringing. - “Music is a huge part of the Puerto Rican way of life and I feel blessed to have been born in such a musical cultured place. The rhythms, sounds, melody and Latin beats ran through my veins as a young kid which is still very much a part of me, the tones still resonate in my mind and I use them when I produce music.” Sneak moved to Chicago
in 1983 and was captivated by American life and the sounds of Jazz, Funk, Soul, Disco and of course, the Chicago House sound which was starting to emerge on the airwaves. “I was drawn to House music because it had very little singing which was perfect for me at the time as I understood very little English. The instrumental endless music mixed together was very appealing... To this day I love and strongly support House music, it really is my life.”
Sneak’s first projects were of an entirely different creative nature. He started off airbrushing and doing graffiti, selling his art on T-Shirts whilst working in a record store also exploring the music industry side of things. Sneak still does graffiti today, boasting a super cool CD wallet brimming with his own designs on each CD. In 1991 Sneak launched Defiant records with his life savings and began recording and selling records, where by the mid 90’s he really began to shape
his sound, dropping tracks every week. “This is how I broke through and DJ Sneak became a known name across the world.” Sneak continued to work with key folks including Cajmere / Green Velvet and Derrick Carter with his Classic label who released Sneak’s ‘U Cant Hide From Your Bud’. In 2000 he launched Magnetic Recordings spawning one of Sneak’s biggest releases in 2001 with ‘Fix My Sink’ featuring vocalist Bear Who? Other labels followed including Oomph
Recordings sporting a deeper sound, and Sneak’s Classics for re-releasing older tracks with fresh remixes. international press & radio publicity favouritizm
As a DJ, Sneak has been a mainstay on the worldwide club scene for 20 years cutting his Fabric teeth at the legendary Bugged Out parties with Norman Cook after a long residency at Mr C’s The End Club in London. Recent adventures have seen him putting on giant warehouse parties in his home of Toronto to hitting the gigantic festivals in the Eastern Bloc including Exit in Serbia, Sunwaves in Romania, over to T In The Park in the UK, and back across the pond to the sunny shores of the BPM Festival in Mexico. Sneak is a workaholic and has been able to survive an
industry of constant changes re-introducing himself to a whole new generation of clubber and music lovers whilst still pleasing the old school music buddies who have supported him since day one. As well as putting the finishing touches to his new artist album due for release in Spring 2012, Sneak has many new single releases in the pipeline including a new forthcoming collaboration with Riva Starr. He has many releases lined up for all 3 of his own labels
as well as European labels who continue to support his sound.

21-11-2011Flamingo Nights 3 Mixed By Nicky Romero & Deniz Koyu
Featuring tracks and remixes from some of Europe’s finest dance music minds, Holland’s kings of the tough beat deliver the 3rd in their Flamingo Nights compilation series. On board are prime cuts from Axwell, Avicii, Hardwell, Fedde Le Grand, Ferry Corsten, Arty and Sander van Doorn, and many more besides. Seizing the mix-controls for session 3 are nu-house heroes Nicky Romero and Deniz Koyu…
On November 25th they’re going to show you how it happens in Holland!
In 2009 they compilation-captured the White Isle’s club juice in Ibiza and 12 months later set their sights on the heart of the Big Apple for a New York chapter. Now, with the city’s musical mercury at sky-high levels, they’ve returned Flamingo Nights to their home streets for the Amsterdam Edition. This year Flamingo honchos Funkerman and Fedde le Grand have ceded the mix controls to label lieutenants Nicky Romero and Deniz Koyu - two of the lowlands’ fastest on-the-rise spin-masters.
With David Guetta tagging Nicky in his DJ Mag interview as ‘the one to watch in 2012’ and having Romero remix ‘Titanium’ from his latest album, the 22-year-old Netherlander’s got the endorsement of the world’s # 1 DJ ringing in his ears. Not wasting a beat of the mix, he gets straight to the point, letting Stefano Noferini’s ‘(This Is) Fucking House Music’ tell it like it is. Snapping at its heels is Fedde Le Grand’s recent chart baiting redux of Falcon & Bangalter’s ‘So Much Love’ and DBN’s own super-uplifting re-bake of Nicky’s own ‘Schizophrenic’ release. He begins to let the mix travel some darker trails, moodying things up with Dirty South & Thomas Gold’s ‘Alive’ and sending it all-out subterranean with his own, just-completed remix-retell of Green Velvet’s strobelite anthem ‘Flash’. The Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike cover of Âme’s house classic ‘Rej’ guides the mix onto a tougher, more pumping track and lets loose a bass-fuelled, high-grade floor-banger with Gregori Klosmas remix of Avicii’s ‘Sweet Dreams’. Keeping the floor tension locked, Nicky brings his mix to a big apex with the tough timbales and tougher yet synth stabs of ‘Camorra’, before classily curtain-closing with Matteo Di’Marr’s imaginative, guitar-flecked revision of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’.
Next to the decks is Breda-based turntable specialist, Deniz Koyu. The Fedde Le Grand discovered prodigy gets his mix’s engines tuning with his own hyper-hot ‘Tung’ release. Currently being hammered by Guetta, SHM, Tiësto, Markus Schulz and others, it’s chased by ‘Grunge’ and Arty’s tough, house channelling ‘Around The World’. Next under the laser are the coolly crafted beats of Fedde Le Grand drum-fest ‘Mentrum’, the angular synths of Wippenberg’s infectiously vocalled ‘UR’ and Arty’s fully-phased rewire of Ferry Corsten’s ‘Punk’. ‘Heart is King’ - Axwell’s deeply strung, atypical summer ‘11 floor thriller - keeps the mix’s orientation deliriously in flux, while Thomas Gold tints its with some tech, courtesy of his hard-rocking remix of Sander van Doorn’s ‘Reach Out’.
Mixed By Nicky Romero and Deniz Koyu, Flamingo Nights Vol. 3 is a release that’ll see the club side of your brain happy right the way through the end-of-year party season… and beyond. It’s out November 25th.

Coming up on Chocolate Puma' imprint
Pssst Music is a track they did with friend
Gregor Salto.
"We’ve known Gregor for quite a while now, he’s from our hometown, and he used to bugger us with demo’s. Eventually he got to release one of his first records on our label and not much later he showed everyone he’s boss. We think he’s one of the best producers out there. So after all these years we finally got together in the studio and came up with Tragito De Ron, a rough kinda latin house affair with piano’s and a woman saying something about rum. Hope you like!" 21-10-2011Hardwell #24 DJ Mag top 100
23-year-old Hardwell is the highest Dutch new entry in DJ Mag Top 100
Amsterdam, October 21st 2011 – Yesterday, the critically acclaimed British DJ Mag announced that the 23-year-old Hardwell entered the DJ Mag Top 100 popularity poll at number 24. Hardwell can be seen as one of the most successful producers/DJ’s of the past few years. In 2010 and 2011, he’s had international successes with collaborations ‘Zero 76’ with Tiësto and ‘Move It 2 The Drum’ with Chuckie.
At the age of 13, a young Hardwell - real name Robbert van de Corput, started his DJ career. After years of building his name as a DJ, he scored his first big hit in 2008 with ‘Never Knew Love’. In 2009, he had his international breakthrough, with his ‘Show Me Love vs. Be’ bootleg, the classic of Robin S. and tracks by Steve Angello and Laidback Luke.
This past year, Hardwell has toured the entire globe, being invited to play at both the American tour as well as several nights of the Privilege Ibiza residency of Tiësto. In early 2011, Hardwell started his own weekly radio show on Dutch radio station SLAM! FM, ‘Hardwell On Air’. His track ‘Cobra’, which scored more than 100.000 views on YouTube within one week, has been crowned to the official theme song of ID&T event Energy – The Network.
In March 2010, the young talent started his very own Revealed Recordings label, in collaboration with Cloud 9 Music. After 1,5 years, Revealed can be seen as one of the leading label in the progressive-house scene. On the label, you won’t only find productions of Hardwell himself, but also tracks from new talents that fit the sound of Revealed. Last Wednesday, during ADE, the first club night of the label ‘Hardwell presents Revealed’ took place in a sold-out and excited Club Home in Amsterdam.

Hardwell - Tribute to hometown Breda ‘076' (Live at Dancetour)
Tiësto & Hardwell - Zero 76, one of the biggest tracks of the year has an original story behind its track title. Tiësto and Hardwell both hail from Breda, The Netherlands and the title Zero 76 is a nod to their home town's area code. This summer Hardwell played at the Dancetour event in ‘Zero 76’ and as a thank you to all fans and proudness of his hometown, Hardwell releases this video with a little peak into the Hardwell studio!
It’s clear to say Hardwell is having his global breakthrough in 2011, travelling all over the world for gigs and scoring hits like ‘Encoded’ and his most recent single ‘The World’. But his biggest track of the year must have been together with ‘greatest dj of all time’ Tiësto. Their collaboration "Zero 76" released beginning of 2011 is a monumental production, fusing each artists' style to create a peaktime record standing out in every set!
As if their country couldn't be any more proud of them, this co-production is as big as it gets. Zero 76 making the rounds at every club and festivals around the globe for months with a huge impact on the crowds! Charts success was there as well being #1 at the overall Beatport chart for two weeks and hitting high in all dance charts worldwide. With that being said ‘Zero 76’ is a sure contender for tune of 2011.

25-07-2011Hardwell presents Revealed Vol. 2

20-07-2011Avicii and Leona Lewis collide over a track
LEONA Lewis's dance reinvention has hit a bump before she could even book her easyJet flight to Ibiza.
The X Factor winner's comeback single Collide, which debuted on radio yesterday, is now the subject of a legal battle likely to involve her label boss Simon Cowell.
Ministry Of Sound records claim the song rips off an instrumental club track Penguin by young dance producer DJ Avicii.
He has spoken out, saying: "I'm just upset for someone taking credit for our idea before I had a chance to release it.
"The Swede's dance track has already been played on radio by DJs including Annie Mac and Pete Tong.
Ministry have now handed Cowells' Syco team a legal letter to try and stop the Leona Lewis track getting a full release.
A Ministry Of Sound source said: "Leona Lewis has stolen our record. Collide is identical to Avicii's track.
"We've been working on this release for a year, then this week we heard Leona's track. Obviously Avicii is pretty upset about this. "A legal letter was sent to Simon Cowell and our lawyers have said they will take the appropriate action over the song.
"Surely if Leona knew how similar her track is to DJ Avicii's song she wouldn't have decided to press ahead with the release?"
But a Syco source hit back last night saying: "There is zero legal case to answer. Avicii is already credited as a songwriter on Leona's song.
"It's a case of sour grapes from Ministry Of Sound."
This could run and run...

20-07-2011Stacey Pullen vs Mirko Loko on Cadenza OUT NOW
For Cadenzaʼs latest output, the imprint serve up something a little different from usual with a versus Ep from two astonishingly contrasting yet equally prominent artists within electronic music. No remixes or reinterpretations are to be seen but instead, a meeting of minds between Mirko Loko and Stacey Pullen with ʻDeux Élémentsʼ. Titled in fitting reflection of the combination of Swiss born Mirko Loko and Detroit innovator Stacey Pullen, this two track cut is as its name projects in all musical and conceptual aspects. Whilst Mirko Loko is by no means new to Cadenza after releasing his highly praised ʻSeventynineʼ Album on the label in 2009, Stacey Pullen is a fresh Cadenza artist that the label couldnʼt be more excited to have aboard...This is ʻDeux Élémentsʼ.
The Epʼs first piece is “Formulaic Modeʼ, a twisted combination of chaotic clicks merged with underlying melodies and a serene ambience of calm. At first glance “Formulaic Mode” coaxes into techno territory as tinny highʼs and hazy kicks dominate the bubbling and electronically sparked vocal snippets. Progressing further into a solid techno realm, drums crash and the stomp evolves; thereʼs no doubt at this stage, “Formulaic Mode” is techno in the truest sense. Subtley though, mystical string arrangements invade the march and envelope it so gently that as our feet continue to, our hearts are tugged by crying violin strings and our minds melt from within. A unique layering of conflicting themes, “Formulaic Mode” works magically.
Flipping over to the B-side, Mirko and Stacey present ʼTronic Illusionʼ next, working with the same intelligent concept of tones and scenes as “Formulaic Mode”, our flitting journey starts all over again. Fuelled by an underlying groove and percussive wooden rhythm sections, “Tonic Illusion” flirts with thundering house vibes and subdued drawn out choral chants. Constantly unfolding, “Tonic Illusions” long shimmering hats and stabbing crunchy elements weave in and out, ensuring we are continuously entertained whilst floating effortlessly from beginning to end.
The atmosphere that ʻDeux Élémentsʼ evokes with these two starkly different soundscapes is unique and intriguing - a combination of two strikingly different artists in a surprising and bounding release from Cadenza.
