As one in the steady progression of top in-house producers for Strictly Rhythm during the early ’90s, Van Helden joined such names as Todd Terry, Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez, Masters at Work and George Morel to record scores of club hits. By the late ’90s, a clutch of crucial remixes and several albums made Van Helden’s name as one of the most popular producers around.

Dutch DJ/producer duo Blasterjaxx has been growing from relatively unknown producers to front-men within the EDM scene in the time-frame of just a couple of years. The two friends Thom Jongkind & Idir Makhlaf are known from their energetic sound which is full of big riffs, enormous builds and killer drops together with catchy melodies.

Because of their passion for music, a tight friendship was born. Because of the fact that both of them were working so much in Thom’s home studio (a dorm room of 20m2) Idir decided to move into the dorm room to be able to work more on music. The next years they spent as much time on making music as possible. Because of their shared passion for music, putting in lots of effort and creating their own sound Thom and Idir got more and more shows which resulted in mainstage shows like Ultra Miami (3x), Tomorrowland (3x), Parookaville and EDC Las Vegas.

In 2013 Blasterjaxx hit the charts internationally with their single ‘Faith’. This track became #1 in both Sweden and South-Africa and reached a double platina status. Partly because of this great achievement the guys debuted in the DJ Mag Top 100 list (#71) and went up an incredible 58 positions to #13 of the top100. After this success Blasterjaxx also won the IDMA Award for best worldwide breakthrough act.

These developments were soon followed by interest of big international dance labels where Blasterjaxx ended up releasing music. Labels like Musical Freedom (Tiësto), Spinnin’ Records, Ultra Music, Mixmash and Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records were a couple to name. Working together with artists like David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Tiësto, The Chainsmokers en Hardwell gained Blasterjaxx a position in the heart of worldwide EDM fans.

This quick rise to success also came with a dark side, a really intense tour-schedule. Something that ended up being too heavy for Idir which forced him to make the decision to step back. Idir stopped touring in 2015 which meant Thom had to fly the world by himself. However, when both at home they still work as much as possible in the studio. Idir, who earlier named this as a ‘hard decision’ still gets full support from his buddy Thom ‘although of course it’s really sad that Idir is not touring anymore, it was hard to see what touring did to him. I am really happy we found a solution which works for the both of us.’

Debut album ‘Perspective’ in 2019

In July 2019, Blasterjaxx released their debut album ‘Perspective’. For the album Thom and Idir took a different path. ‘’Normally we mainly make club or festival oriented tracks’’, Thom says. ‘’We mostly finish a complete track in just a matter of a couple days. This time we set up writing camps in which we literally spent weeks in vacation parks isolating ourselves. We just took a guitar, microphone and a laptop and started from scratch. We invited singer-songwriters and just made the best of it. Every production has had a lot of work and eye for details because every track had a different starting point. One track was more tech whilst another was more indie-dance or big room. In the end all tracks can be related back to our own sound.”

Dion Visser is a techno DJ and producer from Amsterdam. His fascination with electronic music ignited at a young age. In 2016, he entered the world of techno parties, with his inaugural experience at Awakenings in the Gashouder during Len Faki’s Figure Nacht at ADE leaving an indelible mark. Enthralled by the raw and hypnotic sounds of techno, his love for the genre burgeoned from that moment.

Two years later, Dion embarked on his journey as a DJ, landing his first techno gig in February 2022. This marked the acceleration of his career, with increasing bookings for various events and festivals like Fabrik Madrid, Radion, Lofi, Shelter and Ploegendienst Festival.

He artfully guides the audience through a captivating journey with sets that weave unexpected turns, gradually building from the hypnotic embrace of minimal techno to the exhilarating realms of high energy, infectious groove and acid.

Beyond his DJ pursuits, Dion delved into producing his own tracks, experimenting with acid and trippy sounds and styles.

For Dion, it’s not just about playing great music; it’s about forging a connection with the audience. “Building a connection with the crowd while performing is crucial,” he emphasizes. “You quickly sense what they crave, and I respond accordingly. I enjoy taking them on a journey through evolving sets.”

One of House music’s true pioneers, DJ Sneak has the passion and drive to keep House music alive. Self-proclaimed House Gangster, Sneak has helped shape the course of dance music since the early 90s; his early music influencing the likes of Daft Punk, Bassment Jaxx and Armand Van Helden. His signature sounds – funky filtered disco-influenced house and tough, jacking beats – have revolutionized and redefined house music for well over 15 years.

Ferreck Dawn is all about the drums. They have to be heavy and physical to get his dance floors full, while the vocal details bring the all-important heart and soul. After 20 years in the game, this signature sound is what the Dutchman is recognised for around the world. It has taken him to every major club and festival, to labels like Defected, Repopulate Mars and Club Sweat and to the Beatport number 1 spot a number of times.

“I like to please everybody on the dance floor,” he says of this mix of the visceral and more emotional. Whether using original vocalists or digging deep for a sample, it is the melody, soul and texture of the human voice rather than the words that Ferreck is drawn to. And it has been this way since his international breakout tune in 2014: ‘Love Too Deep,’ with his friend Redondo, got signed to Spinnin Records, made the daytime playlist on BBC Radio One and led Ferreck to quit his job and pursue music full time.

His early tunes soon got support from the likes of Carl Cox, Luciano and Green Velvet, and another milestone came with ‘In Arms’ on Defected in 2018. It became one of the most played tracks of the Ibiza season, reached the overall number 1 on Beatport and gathered over 70 million streams. In 2021, he repeated the trick of serving up a sizzling summer anthem and Beatport chart-topper with ‘Back Tomorrow’ together with UK powerhouse singer Jem Cooke, again on Defected. As with many of his tunes, global radio support and high-profile DJ plays helped make it a modern classic.

Part of the reason Ferreck remains a chart-topping producer after nearly 20 years is his ability to do it all. He searches out interesting collaborators from different sub-genres to mix it up and find new inspirations. Whether it’s David Guetta’s house alias Jack Back, ‘The Void’ with Lee Foss, ‘My Own Way’ with A-Trak and Lord, he never stops evolving. Ferreck traces his love of chunky bottom ends back to his earliest experiences of dance music. Growing up in the Netherlands, he was surrounded by gabba and hardcore. It swept him up and defined his early years as DJ Dusk. But the often high tempos and impenetrable grooves proved to be a creative dead end for him once he began producing. He had more to say and was keen to explore a wider array of moods and grooves so added a stylized version of his own first name, Freek, and flipped Dusk to Dawn. He gravitated towards a unique mix of powerful techno drums and emotional house vocals and Ferreck Dawn was born.

As a DJ now, he understands people want to hear the signature Ferreck sound. Hailing from Breda, a city tucked deep within the Netherlands, Hardwell’s journey began at 14, becoming a much sought-after artist on the Dutch dance scene before international attention began to pour in. These special aid concerts hosted at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium in December 2015 and 2017 would raise enough donations to school a combined 122,000 children from the slums of Mumbai. Over the two aid concerts, more than 145,000 attended, and over 20 million people watched via the live streams on the night.

In Autumn 2018, after more than a decade of playing the most significant stages on the planet, Hardwell announced he would take a sabbatical from touring. Yet, temporarily stepping out of the limelight, the seasoned veteran gave his fans one final show to enjoy. Time away from touring would allow Hardwell to be more hands-on with his award-winning label, Revealed Recordings, allowing him to reorganise and expand the longstanding imprint. This period away from touring also gave him more time to focus on his work in the studio for artist discovery. On March 27^th, 2022, after nearly four years away from touring, Hardwell triumphant return with a surprise closing set at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival. Armed with a new 14-track artist album, REBELS NEVER DIE, released on Revealed Recordings and the announcement of a massive 20-date world tour, Hardwell ignited the attention of fans around the globe. The tour featured headline shows at Ultra Europe in Croatia, Brazil’s Laroc club, Atlas Arena in Poland, Soundstorm in Saudi Arabia, Untold Festival in Romania, Ushuaïa Ibiza, Creamfields and Tomorrowland, where the maverick delivered mainstage sets across two separate weekends.

Additionally, the tour spanned shows across Asia and Europe, as well as a run of arena dates across North America. Highlights included UBS Arena in New York, Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, and the Tradex in Canada. The REBELS NEVER DIE tour encompassed 20 global dates, with 13 of them being sold-out events, including a special homecoming gig at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome, drawing close to half a million fans over the course of the tour.

Featuring entirely solo material, the arrival of the REBELS NEVER DIE album ushered in a new era for one of electronic music’s biggest-known stars. Hardwell was inspired to reinvent himself after journeying back to the music he used to listen to as a teenager and rediscovering his old vinyl collection. The result is a timeless long-player release that combines early hard trance riffs with the energy of his big room sounds, all built around a techno musical structure. From goosebump-inducing singles like ‘BROKEN MIRROR’, ‘INTO THE UNKNOWN’, and ‘I FEEL LIKE DANCING’ to seismic club bangers’ GODD’, ‘LASER’ and ‘PACMAN’, the album is a chance to dive headfirst into Hardwell’s creative mind.

To celebrate the next phase of the REBELS NEVER DIE world tour, Hardwell closed 2022 with a special DELUXE EDITION of the REBELS NEVER DIE album. Featuring reworks of classic tracks ‘SPACEMAN’, ‘RETROGRADE’ and ‘BIG ROOM NEVER DIES’, Hardwell’s classic collab with Blasterjaxx and Mitch Crown. The DELUXE EDITION also includes a brand-new track called ‘OH GOSH’ and an epic mashup of ‘F*CKING SOCIETY’ versus Metallica’s ‘NOTHING ELSE MATTERS’.

In 2023, Hardwell continued his stylistic evolution with an array of exciting releases. He kicked off the year by reimagining David Guetta’s resonant cover of Benny Benassi’s classic ‘Satisfaction’, collaborating with Maddix to infuse it with raw, up-tempo energy and indestructible bass chords. The duo followed this with an exhilarating rework of 4Strings’ Eurodance hit ‘Take Me Away Again’. Hardwell’s collaborations continued to flourish as he teamed up with rising Brazilian talent VINNE, Will Sparks, Sub Zero Project, Olly James, and Timmy Trumpet. With fans eagerly embracing his continuous stream of new music, Hardwell maintained a prolific release schedule. He delivered an electrifying remix of Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding’s ‘Miracle’ and joined forces with Sub Zero Project for the anthemic hardstyle track ‘Judgement Day’. He also collaborated with Revealed regular Maddix and Luciana on the acid-laced big-room techno track ‘ACID’ and released ‘Anybody Out There’ with Azteck and Alex Hepburn, which garnered substantial airplay on international radio stations.

The electronic music community celebrated another major collaboration when Hardwell teamed up with techno’s top-selling artist of the past three years, Space 92, on ‘The Abyss’, released via Oliver Heldens’ techno imprint, HILOMATIK. He also reimagined Tomcraft’s iconic 2002 hit  ‘Loneliness’ alongside DJs From Mars and Tomcraft himself and reunited with Afrojack for the explosive ‘Push It’, featuring MERYLL.

The rallying big-room anthem ‘Oldskool Sound’ marked Hardwell’s first release of 2024, quickly followed by an electrifying collaboration with Bassjackers titled ‘Energy’. In a surprising move, Hardwell announced an innovative partnership with tech giant Apple to unveil a groundbreaking Producer Pack, offering a diverse array of sounds, presets, and tools designed to cater to both aspiring artists and seasoned professionals. Continuing his creative momentum, Hardwell joined forces with Blasterjaxx and Maddix for the powerful single ‘16’ and collaborated with Olly James to release their remix of David Guetta & OneRepublic’s ‘I Don’t Wanna Wait’ through Warner Music. Back on Revealed, Hardwell delivered an electrifying edit of Nifra and 2 Unlimited’s ‘Control Your Body’ and shortly after spearheaded the label’s 1000th release. The resulting track, ‘Move’ in collaboration with Swedish talent KAAZE, became an unmissable festival anthem. Further releases included the seismic solo effort ‘XTC’, a collaboration with ‘XTC’, a collaboration with AVAO on ‘I’m The Devil’, and a long-anticipated reunion with Armin van Buuren on their second studio project, ‘Follow The Light’.

Hardwell closed out 2024 with a trio of standout collaborations. From the future hardstyle classic ‘Falling In Love’ with Outsiders to the sublime, vocal-driven, bass-heavy techno anthem ‘No Sleep’ with Sarah de Warren, Hardwell sustained his streak of party-banging hits. His final release of the year was a special collaboration with production legend (Maarten) Vorwerk on ‘Cambodia’, a rave-inspired masterpiece featuring feverish piano chords, aggressive synth lines, and razor-sharp kicks.

In 2023, Hardwell embarked on a global tour, taking his sound to Ultra Music Festival in Miami and Melbourne before playing shows in Thailand and Bali. Was invited for a headline slot at the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku. In addition to these highlights, his North American tour featured shows at venues such as New York’s iconic hotspot, The Brooklyn Mirage, The Harbour Convention Centre in Vancouver, and Chicago’s TAO Nightclub. His festival appearances included headline slots at Parookaville, Balaton Sound, Dreambeach, Mysteryland, and Tomorrowland, among others. Born in Cairo, Egypt in 1991 with both the Egyptian and the Dutch nationality, Karim Soliman learned to navigate through different cultures. He was quickly influenced by electronic dance music at a young age which led him to start dj’ing and organising small rave events to create a stage for himself. After winning the Michel de Hey dj contest in 2011 he quickly grew to the DJ he is now with a residency at the Give Soul, Boothstock, A Day At The Park & Toffler Festival in his hometown Rotterdam. In 2023 he has made his debut at Tomorrowland which is definitely one of many highlights of that year.

In 2022 his track “Tusi” revolutionised the tech-house sound, being the first ever dutch dj to produce a tech-house track with a Dutch pop artist: Mula B. He now has released various tracks with other big pop stars like Broederliefde & Bizzey and you can expect much more of his new sound the following years.

LA$$A (DJ/Producer) broke through in early 2019 with the club hit “Hans Betaalt De Schade” that earned him a gold award. Within no time, Yves Lassally aka LA$$A was working with the top Dutch artists. In 2020, he collaborated with Rolf Sanchez on the #1 Top 40 hit “Mas Mas Mas” and the hit “Ven Ven”, with which he managed to score two BUMA Awards. LOVRA is a talented and unique girl from Berlin, traveling the globe as an internationally requested DJ as well as a successful producer. When Mike Williams was only 4 years old, playing the piano for the first time, his family already knew it would be the start of a big career in music. He bought his first DJ gear from his savings when he was twelve and from that moment on you could always find Mike behind the decks. The foundation was built for his unique style, his recognizable melodic sounds and it still forms the base of his music today.

His breakthrough came in 2017 as his hit ‘Feel Good’, a collab with non-other than Felix Jaehn, went sky high on radio, in playlists and streams. A while back Tim Hox was working on new music in the lab. He felt the undeniable urge to refocus his sound. Tim locked himself in the lab for the next six months. After those heavy months he finally got the courage to release some of his stuff on the label “Goons”. His first single “My Party” received great response and turned to be the beginning of many new releases that would result in “The Hox Program EP”.

Together with tracks like: “Tool For You” & “Nucleotides” he discovered a new genre called Hox House. Getting support from big names like Hardwell, Don Diablo and Diplo. Tim knew he was up to something special. Working late in the lab, experimenting with this Hox House. Grammy Award nominated DJ/Producer Todd Terry has been engulfed in dance music since he first started listening to European dance music records while growing up in Brooklyn. Already devoted to turntables, he heard something different in those tracks, and he “went for the difference. I never got a break in New York, but England happened right away, so I catered to them.” In any event, the Todd Terry sound was born.

By 1988, Todd Terry hit big in England and Europe, and his notoriety was making its way back to the U.S. In addition to DJ appearances, Todd was cutting his classic underground tracks A Day In The Life, Weekend, and Can You Party, released under monikers such as the Todd Terry Project, House Of Gypsies, and Royal House, all considered essential and ground breaking.

In the mid 90’s, the Ministry of Sound’s eponymous UK label released A Day In The Life, a collection of Todd Terry tracks that had been causing dance floor panic. That then led the way to a deal with Mercury Records allowing him to set up a context in which to work with his favourite singers and performers. The first release, Keep On Jumpin’ on featured a vocal workout from super-divas Martha Wash and Jocelyn Brown, together for the first time ever. The song became a top 10 UK crossover pop hit and worldwide smash.  Todd followed with the anthem ‘Somethin Going On’, a top 5 UK crossover pop hit.

All the while, Todd continued to break new ground as a Producer/Remixer. In 1995, his remix for Everything But The Girl’s Missing became a worldwide smash, giving the British duo their first ever hit. Turfy Gang kicks in the door of the music industry in 2021. The group, which consists of 7 students from Maarssen, then managed to score well right away with debut singles “Booty Call” and “Je Voelt Ons”! It was actually all a joke; the 7 guys were making music while hanging out, and they wanted to be able to listen to it on Sonos. Since Sonos cannot connect to Soundcloud, they had to upload their tunes on Spotify – the rest is history.

Joris and Koen are the front men of the group, although it is nice to mention that Joris started making music at the age of 12. He bagged quite a few streams under the name “JRVO” when he was young, but the real success started by accident, when he uploaded a few songs with Turfy Gang.

The positive energy and, above all, the lyrics, which are very identifiable to students, have since resulted in one hit after another. The first Turfy Gang songs immediately scored well, but the real breakthrough came after their visit to FunX. The men did a live performance of their single “Buren” and the footage immediately went viral on Instagram and TikTok. With this hit, in which they cynically say ‘sorry’ to their neighbours, they scored more than 13 million streams on Spotify alone – and thus their first gold record!

Meanwhile, the men continue steadily. They released new singles with well-known names in the scene; from Partysquad and Bokoesam to Young Ellens. In March 2023, the boys dropped their biggest hit to date; “Padellen”. The track entered the Top 10 in no time and was a huge success on TikTok. They dropped their first project at the end of that year; Loafers van Puppyleer EP. The boys will be on even bigger stages in 2024, and they will try to surpass the success of “Padellen” – so keep an eye on them.

An energetic trio, with hit singles and shows worldwide, once originated with two brothers back in 2011 in Amsterdam. With their name paying homage to the American duo from the 90s hip hop golden age Kris Kross, whom they are so fond of – brothers Sander and Jordy Huisman were set on creating a sound, which forged their myriad influences together in seamless fashion. The brothers decided to start hosting parties in Amsterdam, their hometown. Here they could play exactly what they were missing in the Dutch club scene: a mix of R&B, hip hop, twerk, trap and house. Jordy and Sander had their own act at first, but later on in 2014, MC Yuki Kempees joined forces with them.

2015 was the year Kris Kross Amsterdam signed a deal with dance record label Spinnin’ Records, and had their first release ever: “Until The Morning”. Afterwards, KKA dropped multiple releases on the label, with extremely high impact, catching worldwide attention. Amongst those releases are: “SEX”, an international mega hit with Cheat Codes with over 515 million streams, “Are You Sure?”, an enormous collab with British pop star Conor Maynard and American hip hop artist Ty Dolla $ign, “Vámonos” with former Fifth Harmony singer Ally Brooke and rapper Messiah, and the release with Conor and The Boy Next Door, “Whenever”. This track originated from Shakira’s “Whenever, Wherever”, but got dipped into KKA style and turned into the ultimate 2018 summer hit. “Whenever” is good for over a 224 million streams in total and received global attention from Billboard Dance Chart, Global Top 50 Chart and 29 Viral Charts on Spotify. To top it all off, the record has reached a certified Platinum status in The Netherlands and Sweden – and a Golden status in Finland. With their first Dutch hit “Hij Is Van Mij” KKA immediately climbed to a Dutch #1 position. These catchy, prestigious releases – which are typical for the KKA sound – altogether amass over the insane amount of 1 billion streams.

Next to making hit singles, the three gentlemen of Kris Kross Amsterdam kept traveling all over the world with their catchy productions, energetic DJ sets and spectacular sceneries.
